The Stone That Built a City
Meleke limestone — known locally as Jerusalem Stone — has been quarried from the hills surrounding this city since the time of Solomon. Its warm golden hue catches the light differently at every hour, from the pale dawn over the Mount of Olives to the deep amber of a Jerusalem sunset.
When we restored this 1920s building on King David Street, we made a deliberate choice: expose the original stone, source new blocks from local quarries, and let the material speak for itself. No plaster. No imitation. Just stone.
